Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 28, 2026

Who this policy covers

This policy explains what information Gian Games collects on giangames.com and in our games, why, and how you can ask us to delete it. It currently covers the Gian Games home page and Zubaazi (a word game by Gian Games) at zubaazi.giangames.com, including its Daily Challenge, Friend Challenge, Single Player, and Practice modes.

None of our games require an account, email address, or password to play.

Information we collect

  • The name you type in. This is optional text you choose yourself — we don't verify it, and we recommend using a nickname rather than a full legal name, especially for children.
  • Game activity. Your score, words found, and the date/time you played, so leaderboards and results can be shown.
  • An anonymous device identifier. When you open Zubaazi, we automatically generate a random ID (via Firebase Anonymous Authentication) tied to your browser. It is not linked to your name, email, or any other real-world identity, and is used only to recognize "this browser already played today" or "this is your entry on the leaderboard."
  • Anonymous usage analytics. We use Firebase Analytics (Google) to see basic usage patterns — for example, which game mode you chose, how many rounds are played, and the score/words-found when a round ends. This is tied to a separate, random analytics identifier, not your name or the device identifier above. Advertising and ad-personalization features are switched off in this tool; it's used only to understand how the app is used, not to build an advertising profile.
  • Basic technical logs. Our hosting provider may automatically log standard web request data (like IP address and browser type) for security and performance, the same way most websites do.

We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, precise location, or payment information. We don't show ads on our sites or in our games. Advertising features are switched off in all the analytics tools we use.

How we use this information

  • To show names and scores on the Daily Challenge and Friend Challenge leaderboards
  • To remember your chosen name on your device so you don't have to retype it each time
  • To enforce one-attempt-per-day (Daily Challenge) and one-attempt-per-challenge (Friend Challenge) rules
  • To understand which game modes and features are actually used, so we can improve the app
  • To measure visits to giangames.com and see which games people open

We do not use your information for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell your information to anyone.

Who can see your information

The name and score you enter are visible to anyone viewing that same leaderboard — for the Daily Challenge, that's everyone playing that day; for a Friend Challenge, that's anyone who has the challenge code. Please choose a nickname rather than a full name, particularly if a child is playing.

Third-party services we use

  • Firebase (Google) — stores game data and issues the anonymous sign-in identifier described above. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Analytics (Google) — measures visits to giangames.com and the Gian Games app, such as which pages are viewed and which games are opened, using the same anonymous, ad-features-off settings described below.
  • Firebase Analytics (Google) — collects anonymous usage statistics such as which game mode was selected and basic session counts, to help us understand how the app is used. Advertising and ad-personalization data collection are disabled. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Netlify — hosts our websites and may log standard technical request data as part of normal web hosting. See Netlify's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts — loads the typefaces used on our sites; as with any font CDN, this may involve your browser making a request to Google's servers.

Children's privacy

Zubaazi is not directed at, marketed to, or intended for use by children under 13. Names and scores are shown publicly on leaderboards, which is not an appropriate setting for a young child's information to appear in. Zubaazi is intended for teens and adults. If you are a parent looking for something for a younger child, please don't create an entry for them here.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that someone under 13 has provided information through Zubaazi, we will delete that information promptly.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used Zubaazi or entered information here, please contact us at giangames@gmail.com so we can remove it.

How long we keep information

Daily Challenge and Friend Challenge leaderboard entries are automatically deleted 30 days after the round was played. The name you've typed in is also automatically deleted after 30 days of not being used. You can request deletion of a specific entry sooner at any time (see below).

Your choices

Because we don't collect accounts or email addresses, we can't look up "your" data by identity alone. To request deletion, contact us at giangames@gmail.com with details that help us locate the entry — for example, the challenge code, the date you played, and the name you used.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or other regional privacy laws, including the right to access or correct your information. Contact us to exercise these rights.

If you are in Australia and you're not satisfied with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

Security

We use access controls (Firebase security rules) to limit who can write to stored game data. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we don't store the kinds of sensitive information (passwords, payment details) that would make a breach especially harmful.

Changes to this policy

If we add games or features that change what we collect — such as accounts, advertising, or payments — we'll update this page and the effective date above.
